We have all traveled through Times Square in Manhattan and seen all manner of children’s television character roaming through the clouds. You all know who I am referring to, those folks that stomp around in the filthy costumes with the nylon bags marked “TIPS” and generally intrude on you and your family’s good time in NYC. It is understandable that times are tough and people need to make a living somehow. However, it has always been the rather bad attitudes and behaviors of those costumed tip hunters that have irked me and others.
Now, they are at it again much closer to home this time. Presented with this picture yesterday, I felt the need to put out a request, “Accept No Substitutes.” Take a gander at the picture to the right. So many things are out of place and incorrect, it seems daunting as where to begin. So, I won’t. Suffice it to say they are Rubies troopers and sprang from a box with little to no time or care placed in the craftsmanship. My qualm rests with them charging tips for pictures and those proceeds lining their own pockets. It flies in the face of our mission in the 501st Legion.
